THE JAZZ OF LIFE. 

Chris Barrick is a percussionist, jazz vibraphonist, drummer and educator with a wide variety of experience in multiple genres of music.  As an orchestral percussionist, he has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, National Philharmonic, Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, The Washington Chorus, Cincinnati Ballet New Works Series, Lexington Philharmonic and the Evansville Philharmonic.  He has performed in extended theater productions and shows with the Shakespeare Theatre Company (DC), the Kennedy Center and Signature Theater. 

As a jazz vibraphonist and drummer, Chris has performed and recorded with many great musicians in Cincinnati and DC, including Brad Myers, whose 2015 recording Prime Numbers earned a four star review in Downbeat Magazine, Mike Sharfe, Rusty Burge, John Von Ohlen, Steve Schmidt, Allyn Johnson, Brad Linde, Nate Hook, Reginald Cyntje, Lenny Robinson, Herbert Scott, Elijah Jamal Balbed, Ethan Philion and Abinnet Berhanu. 

Chris taught jazz percussion and world music at Northern Kentucky University and percussion, jazz improvisation and music theory at Cincinnati Christian University and is currently Director of Percussion with Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras and a faculty member of the Washington Conservatory of Music.  He earned a Bachelor of Music from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and a Master of Music from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
